· Did you know some languages are mutually intelligible, but some dialects within a language are not?

· Did you know that some languages are so varied, each town or village may have words or ways of pronunciation different from the next?

· Do you know how to tell if someone comes from Manchester or Liverpool? Madrid or Seville? Texas or New England? Rome or Milan?

· inclusive language is essential to our endeavour to reach full equality for everyone, and learning how to adjust your communication for a more equitable working environment will give you confidence in your efforts

· style guides are becoming the norm these days, not just for print and broadcast; we have been involved in the creation of a series of style guides aimed at establishing a code of conduct in professional communication. In-house releases are different to public ones. And social media will be different to TV and press.

· pronouncing words and names in another language, for example people, companies or places, even if you do not speak it, can show you made a great effort to learn and understand more about them, their culture and their locality

· reducing jargon and wordiness from lengthy texts can make your message easier to understand and help the reader/listener know what action to take

· choosing the most appropriate words, using correct intonation, avoiding awkward misunderstandings will ensure that you build strong, healthy and lasting relationships

· whatever your language needs, we are always on hand to give you reassurance and advice
